This is the first post of a series of posts where we will be taking you around different shopping neighbourhoods in Vancouver, BC and featuring some stores that carry Matria Home.
It's very exciting for us to see how our beautiful textiles are finding a home within such different communities. I think it's a lot to do with the fact that Vancouver is such a multicultural city in general and people are curious to find things from around the world and handmade work is really valued. Thank you Vancouver!
Our first stop is South Granville. This shopping district boasts restaurants, art galleries, cafes and all kinds of boutiques and large department stores from Granville and 5th all the way to Granville and 15th.
I love strolling up Granville Street on the weekends with a coffee in hand and just taking in all the new finds each boutique and gallery has. I like to start at the bottom, close to Granville and 5th and walk my way up to 15th.
There are so many great places to see! If you are looking for home decor in this area, the must-see places are Restoration Hardware, Pottery Barn, EQ3, Structube, West Elm and Anthropologie for home accessories. South Granville has really become a great place to shop for home decor in Vancouver. CB2 and Structube are the most recent additions to the strip and they bring some great modern designs to the mix of stores that we were finding before. The Chapters Indigo on Broadway and Granville also has a great selection of home accessories, especially for the office and bedroom.
For fashion I would recommend Anthropologie, Roots, The Latest Scoop and our featured store; Zebra Club.
We found Zebraclub last year when we were exploring the neighbourhood and we were looking for the perfect place for a Pop Up Shop. We really liked the unique vibe it has, very different to the main stream shops in this area.
They are proud to curate a selection of local goods that are difficult to find elsewhere.
This is their second location, after opening in the 80s in Pike Place Market, in Seattle.
"The store became a hub for up and coming independent brands and taste-makers by creating a distinct environmental retail experience."
Zebraclub also opened a third location in Berlin, Germany.
